Justice, Hatcher’s Pass is one of my alltime favorite places. Have you been to Independence Gold Mine? It’s not working any more, but the ruins are really cool. Sometimes if you pick rocks out of the stream-bed there, they will have yellow-orangey streaks in them – that is gold ore. I have a couple in my garden in Eagle River.

That is a great story about going to Hatcher’s Pass. It runs in the Rash family to collect rocks. I love finding interesting rocks. Your Great Grandpa Rash use to make jewerly from rocks that he cut and polished himself and we use to go to “Rock” shows when I was little.
